Good shops and inns are found in the picturesque market town of Appleby, 4 miles, which attracts numerous visitors to the exciting Gypsy Horse Fair in June. The myriad delights of the Lake District, Eden Valley and Yorkshire Dales are easily accessible, and nature reserves, golf and cycling are available nearby.

Reviews
A wonderful, quiet, white Christmas Break. Lots of walks, our 2 dogs loved it, the cottage was very clean and cosy, and the owners were very friendly. We loved watching the bird feeding station, it was a lot more entertaining than the television. The wood burning stove made the cottage very warm and cosy, I would suggest letting it burn down a liitle, a couple of hours before bedtime or the bedroom gets very warm. We just wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time!

It was a very nice cottage, very clean, very welcoming. We were left fresh eggs and chocolate as a welcome gift, and a blazing stove. It was really nice.
